Price quote

Monetary units or units of weight or volume on the basis of which a futures or option contract is quoted (for example, dollars per metric ton or cents per gallon, for a futures, or Canadian cents per U.S. dollar for options on the U.S. dollar quoted in Canada).

(1) This element is part of the contract specifications. (2) To obtain the value of a futures, the price is multiplied by the contract size. (3) In the case of options, the terms premium quote and premium quotation are also used. (4) In the case of index futures, the price quote is expressed in index points.
